Each summer from June through early August, students ages 10-15 spend five weeks in the garden, the kitchen and the farm stand. These students share enriching experiences that give them a deeper understanding of nature, food, and the impact that making thoughtful, healthy choices has for themselves and the environment. Within the five week program students spend their time in the garden learning the science behind gardening, writing, and creating art in the natural setting that surrounds them. Students are given the opportunity to spend one week in the kitchen, creating healthy lunches for themselves and their peers with the foods that they are growing with their own hands. And, students are able to experience small business practices and utilize math skills in the farm stand where they price, market, and sell produce from the garden. A fresh garden lunch is provided each day of the five week summer program.
